Supporting comfort during prolonged chair-based treatment

As more treatment is delivered through outpatient, day-treatment and ambulatory care services, greater attention is being given to the patient experience of prolonged chair-based treatment.

Patients receiving oncology, dialysis and other prolonged chair-based treatments may remain seated for several hours at a time. During extended chair time, maintaining warmth, comfort and ease of clinical access can become increasingly important to the overall treatment experience.

Snhug Sit® was developed to address a simple but overlooked problem:
Traditional blankets are meant for beds, not prolonged chair-based treatment.

Snhug Sit® is designed to support warmth and comfort during extended chair-based treatment sessions. Designed to be used while remaining seated, it allows warmth and coverage to be adjusted while maintaining clinical access during treatment.

Protected by an international portfolio of registered designs, including the United Kingdom, European Union, Canada and China, together with a U.S. design patent.

Prolonged chair-based treatment creates different challenges

Many patients receiving dialysis, chemotherapy, infusion therapy and other treatments spend several hours in treatment chairs.

Unlike bed-based care, prolonged chair-based treatment requires patients to remain seated or semi-reclined while also accommodating treatment equipment, monitoring and clinical access.

As a result, maintaining comfort during treatment can present different practical challenges for both patients and healthcare teams.

Comfort during prolonged chair-based treatment is not simply about temperature. It is about helping patients feel more comfortable, supported and more at ease throughout treatment.

Designed specifically for sitting

Snhug Sit was created to provide warmth while supporting ease of access during treatment, making it suitable for chair-based treatment environments where warmth and access both matter.

Designed to be put on while seated, Snhug Sit can be pulled up over the legs and body without the disruption often caused by repositioning traditional blankets around treatment equipment or lines.

The integrated foot pocket helps maintain warmth and coverage during long treatment sessions. Maintaining warmth can become increasingly important during extended chair-time sessions where patients may remain seated or semi-reclined for several hours.

Supporting comfort, dignity and access

Small practical details can make a meaningful difference to patient comfort, dignity and the overall treatment experience during care delivery.

For patients returning week after week, comfort and patient experience become part of the care journey itself.

Patient feedback

“Perfect for dialysis and much warmer to use in the hospital than my usual blanket. Much cuddlier than I expected.”
